Two ways to give

Support WOLF now and in 2027.

Available now

Make a 2026 tax-deductible charitable gift

Wide Open Learning Fund, Inc. is recognized by the IRS as a Section 501(c)(3) public charity, effective August 20, 2026. Contributions are deductible to the extent allowed by law. Current gifts support startup, program development, outreach, compliance and the infrastructure needed to launch scholarship operations.

EIN 42-4583405. Donors should consult their tax adviser regarding their individual circumstances.

Beginning January 1, 2027

Pledge a 2027 tax-credit-eligible donation

The federal Education Freedom Tax Credit is scheduled to allow eligible individuals to claim a dollar-for-dollar federal income-tax credit of up to $1,700 for qualified cash contributions to eligible Scholarship Granting Organizations.

A pledge now can help WOLF plan for 2027. The actual Section 25F contribution must occur after the credit becomes available and WOLF must satisfy applicable eligibility and Wyoming listing requirements.

Giving securely

To make a 2026 charitable gift or discuss a 2027 pledge, use the contact buttons on this page or email director@wolfscholarship.org. WOLF will provide current giving instructions. Do not send credit-card, bank-account, Social Security or other sensitive financial information by regular email.

The 2027 credit

A different way to support education.

For a qualifying contribution, the federal credit can reduce federal income tax owed dollar-for-dollar, up to the statutory limit. Instead of simply paying that amount to the federal government, an eligible donor can direct qualifying dollars toward scholarships for students.

$

Up to $1,700

The federal Education Freedom Tax Credit is limited to $1,700 per eligible individual taxpayer, subject to federal requirements.

1:1

Dollar-for-dollar credit

A tax credit reduces federal income tax owed rather than merely reducing taxable income.

Support Wyoming students

WOLF intends to use qualifying contributions to fund eligible scholarships for Wyoming K-12 students.

Paycheck-by-paycheck giving

Potentially support WOLF without reducing regular take-home pay.

A taxpayer who expects to qualify for the Section 25F credit may be able to adjust federal income-tax withholding on Form W-4 to reflect anticipated tax credits, then direct the corresponding increase in take-home pay to WOLF over the course of the year.

Take this guide to HR or payroll.

Use WOLF's step-by-step 2027 Payroll Withholding Guide to understand how the IRS estimator, Form W-4 and a planned WOLF contribution can fit together.

Use the official IRS estimator.

Rather than overwithholding federal tax and waiting until filing time to receive the benefit of a credit, an eligible taxpayer may be able to reduce withholding during the year and donate the corresponding cash flow to WOLF. Exact withholding adjustments depend on each taxpayer's circumstances.

WOLF does not provide individual tax advice. Donors should use the IRS estimator and/or consult a tax professional before changing Form W-4.

Your tax obligation can become a student's opportunity. A contribution to WOLF can help send a student to a national competition, a historic site, a cultural experience or another educational opportunity that changes what they believe is possible.
